On Monday, the court heard communication data and information retrieved from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly requesting Madeleine's mother for a genetic test over that period.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a vacation in Portugal - is among the most widely reported missing child cases and continues to be open.

'I Don't Want Money'

One voicemail, played in court, documented Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm fat and not pretty like Madeleine had been, but I feel what I know."

While another instance of Ms Wandelt's monologues with Mrs McCann's recording expressed: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not important for you?"

"I do not need money, I possess a existence here in Poland, I just want to know," the message continued.

The tribunal was told that through emails, mobile messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt demanded a genetic test, forwarded early photographs to her phone in a bid to demonstrate a likeness to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and asserted to have "flashbacks" from a early life with the McCanns.

The investigator, an investigator with Leicestershire Police who collated the information, told the court there "seemed to lack any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt furthermore contacted acquaintances of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.

On that date, Mr McCann answered a phone call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's recording stating "I will continue and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court learned the co-defendant established a connection online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a appearance to the McCanns' property in the county in that winter.

Call logs showed Mrs Spragg had contacted through messaging service to Mrs McCann to say the media had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be taken seriously in the months leading up to the trip to that location, that area, in that winter.

The court learned message exchanges between the two defendants, in that autumn, considering attempting to get Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her bins or from utensils at a restaurant.

"We must take action," Mrs Spragg advised Ms Wandelt.

On the night of the visit to their home, the defendant sent a text which expressed: "We find ourselves sat near the McCanns' residence with our lights out similar to detectives. I desired to achieve this with another person I didn't imagine I would be doing that with the McCanns."

The case ongoing.
