The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the US has yet to issue a statement. Airspace Engagements Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their territorial skies. In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region. Iran's Declared Retaliation The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was striking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning. That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the government. Regional Fallout In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage. The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles". "Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued. Officials reported wreckage landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian. The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
